Creative Summer Fun Projects for Dad and the kids

Summer time is the time to get outside. However, being outside need not be only swimming and barbecues. Here are some great ideas for outdoor projects that parents and children will really enjoy. They involve things that move, things that learn about the world, or construction. There is something to suit every type of dad.

Doing things that go!

Model Rockets - This is a relatively inexpensive hobby and usually can get a full launch set for about thirty-five dollars. The crowd is composed of a few hours making rockets made of cardboard and plastic tubes and the launch taking them outside. Kits are available that all you need and the dual aspects of doing something and then firing off will appeal to every type of father and all types of children.

Comets - if somewhat less involved (and less expensive) you want to kite and Flying is a great alternative. There are plenty of websites that will show you how to make a computer from scratch. Or you can spend a few dollars and purchase. Once mounted provide many hours of outdoor fun - until it gets stuck in a tree!

Remote Control Toys - A more complex to build and use project would be something in the kind of remote control. Almost everything imaginable is available now as a remote control project. You can build ships, planes, helicopters, or race cars and then into the lake, your home, or airways in the neighborhood. This exercise has some flexibility in that you can purchase the full articles assembled and ready to use or you can buy kits and plans that will give you many hours of fun building just before it actually used.

If want to pull out all the stops you may want to consider a go-kart. Could it be motorized or not. Now this would be a project that is remembered for life.

Learning and Science Projects

Summer time is a good time to go outside, but how many times think of going out at night? Astronomy and telescopes are often overlooked search that is very rewarding. And you really do not need a telescope. A pair of binoculars and a map of the stars will be more than enough.
