Modern Prefab Homes are no longer boxes on wheels

Most people, when they think of prefab homes, think of those white plastic boxes which have been reduced by half and are rolling down the highway at the back of a huge tractor-trailer. Not what many consider their dream home.

Modern eco-friendly manufactured homes are changing the way we think about a prefabricated building. These new luxurious houses are no longer plastic boxes - many of them use art materials and architectural designs.

The trailer park "image of a house built and is rapidly disappearing as new designs, exciting and innovators are producing extremely high specifications to be built by skilled artisans.

A large proportion of these new-style buildings are designed to be eco-friendly prefabricated homes using sustainable materials and the latest concepts in energy efficiency not only for comfort and to save on energy bills, but with a mind to reduce the footprint of carbon buildings.

There are several reasons why people resort to these households modern prefab, not least of all is the price. Modern houses built partly or wholly out of place, and then led many homeowners to assemble are generally much cheaper than building a house in the traditional way at the site. This is because it is much cheaper to build the house in a production unit instead of taking every brick and a piece of wood to the location for mounting.

One factor that makes modern prefab homes more cost effective than traditional site-built homes is the builder may order materials in bulk in a very large scale thus significantly reducing the cost of these items such as wood, solar panels and windows.

However, just because construction prices may be cheaper, with no modern prefab homes necessarily follow that it is "cheap houses". Prices of pre-assembled houses may start in the range of $ 30,000 for a nice little wooden house construction, manufactured housing, but many costs on several occasions that, in some cases even to the $ 6 - $ 700,000.

Besides reducing costs, many people are now more environmentally conscious and are concerned about the impact of your home can have on the world environmental problems. More people they build new houses now think ahead about how best to build a 'green' home.

Construction in a controlled environment like a install prefabricated building is much more environmentally friendly than building on site, one reason for this is that eco-friendly prefabricated homes produced much less waste than a traditional house building techniques.

They also use less environmentally threatening materials such as water-based. A manufactured home will employ almost no water during construction. A block and brick house can use 150,000 gallons in things like cement and mortar. Households modern prefabricated also use large amounts of replenishable materials and construction, unlike in the site built homes.

Description

This book shows around 25 international houses that are based on modular and prefabrication systems. All of them have ecological advantages in comparison to standard construction systems, since they represent a more effective use of resources and a reduction of construction time and there with costs. All houses are built in factories, carried by road and assembled on site. Thus, building materials can be used more economically and very few refuse is produced during construction. Due to the actual spread of technologies and construction typologies, the international prefabrication industry can deliver up-to-date houses, aesthetically modern, and with an average rank of prizes from very cheap solutions to more exclusive ones, depending on the main material used (wood, steel, galvanised aluminum and concrete).
